TGIF

29 Dec 05 - Roshni's b'day...but we put the celebration on hold to 30 Dec (TGIF).

As usual, everytime we want to chill on a Fri nite ... I always get stuck @ work wif neverending workload (that's coz I get disturbed by ppl left rite ctr that I can't finish my OWN work!)!! The last time it happened was 24 Jun 05 when it was to celebrate my b'day. History repeats itself on 30 Dec 05...this time to celebrate Roshni's b'day!!

But this time .. I heck care... Initially planned to leave @ 6.15pm (nothing later) .. but got stuck, so eventually, by 6.35pm, I emailed work to home & left office w/o completing it! I'll not make Rosh wait for me once agn!!!

After a 7 mins walk to the carpark, I realised that, in all this hurry, I had left my sunglasses in the office..DAMN! But a sacrifice I shall make..to live w/o it for the wkend but I'll not waste our time by making a trip back to office to take my glasses.

I nvr had any hopes wif Rosh when it comes to Hindi movies (she'll kill me if she reads this coz I keep harping abt it non-stop juz to irritate her!)...this time, she gave a "I don't mind watching a Hindi movie but I don't wanna stay in Bedok". Fine, now hindi movies are being shown in Jade (Shaw Towers, Bugis). So the plan: If there's a movie (other than Bluffmaster coz I've watched it) worth watching, we'll catch it @ Jade. So there was a show @ 9.30 for Ek Ajnabee (starring my FIL - Amitabh Bachchan .. hehehe). So we had all the time in the world for dinner ... at SOFRA.

I'm so glad Roshni was so game for SOFRA or rather turkish food (thanks to my review of the food on my blog earlier this year), that made it so much easier for us to juggle movie & dinner! That's my b'day gift to her - everything that nite shall be on me. Technically, I'm her b'day gift eh!?

So we reached Shaw arnd 7-ish, 1st thing we did was grab the 9.30pm tix. Then, I did something cute, I know I know, only I can come up wif such nonsense! There was this huge poster of Bluffmaster. Abhishek was like life-size, I almost wanted to kiss "him"! So instantaneously, I told Roshni to snap a picture of us (Abhi & I!).

Then we went to SOFRA & enjoyed filling our stomachs. Roshni had Iskender Kebab (chicken) while I had Oven Kofte (lamb). Then we shared a chicken Pide and we did that silly thing Farah & I did once .. we ordered a Chocolate Pudding & a Rice Pudding & mixed both!! I checked the picture & it turned out great!! Except Abhi was putting on an stern face & I was smiling away! Thought of snapping another 1 later, but I didn't want anyone to see it, lest everyone will copy my idea & start snapping wif him!! NO WAY man!

And then I did another naughty thing in SOFRA. It was X'mas season & they had decorated their glass panels with those white snow-like powder. I went to one of the panel facing us...and I drew wif my finger "Happy Birthday Rosh!". Of coz, after I got back to my seat, the staff came & told me "U're not allowed to do that actually" ... like Duh. I know la. But eventually I apologised anyway. Gosh, why do I enjoy acting like I'm mentally challenged!?! Hehehe.

Oh well, by 9.15pm, we get out of SOFRA, "emptied our tanks" & headed for the theatre. I almost wanted to snap another picture wif that poster as planned, but ppl started moving in & out & so I had to call-off the idea.

The movie was somewhat like a Hollywood movie...but we still can't figure out which movie it cld hav copied from (that's our hobby when we watch ANY hindi movie...we like to guess wat English movie it copied from!). It was gd..afterall it's Amitabh, it had 2b gd! It was a nice journey guessing the outcome of the movie..and all my guesses turned out correct. The last scene was superb! Shan't kill the surprise, go watch it yourself & u'll noe wat I mean! *wink*

Movie ended @ midnight..it's time 2 go back...and I did another unbelievable thing. I made Roshni take over at the wheels (she's nvr driven my new car b4!). 1st I wanted to rest my left leg which I've been having problems wif the knee to the shin. Driving to Shaw earlier was horrendous, esp when I got stuck @ jam @ Rochor exit, my left leg was perpetually stretched on the clutch for almost 15mins & the pain was causing my whole left leg to tremble tremendously! 2nd, if she doesn't test drive my car, it'll be a problem if in the future we decide to go to somewhere I'm not confident of driving & I want her to drive. She did extremely well anyway, except for her constant irritating habit of screaming her lungs out while driving & giving me a shock!

That aside, I had a wonderful time playing wif my camera snapping us. It feels great u know to be on the other side of my car (so I just had to capture the moment!)...sick of being the driver sometimes. Reached Bedok @ 12.30am... we snapped some photos then bid adios & I took over at the wheels & drove home. Reached home @ 1am. Was so sleepy, so I showered & then went to sleep. A wonderful end to my 2005...spending it with someone close to my heart.

PS:- She has named my new baby boy (which was her gift) - BUNTY. Haha.
