I lied...

...my RETAIL THERAPY didn't really end with the Nokia 6280!

...I had made appt for spa treatment @ Citra Ayu (located @ Bedok).  My colleague, Kak Misah, wanted to pamper herself (for once, wif her Progress Package bonus) & I was also in need of a massage (been a yr!!) so I thot y not tag along.  She had Wanyan Retreat (located @ Bussorah St) in mind, but after enquiring, it was too costly ($200++)...I wasn't prepared to spend dat kinda amt for a massage (my budget is below $150).

I suggested Citra Ayu to her as 1 of my fren goes there for facial.  After enquiring, Kak Misah was so excited coz there was a 4-in-1 package (consisting of sauna, massage, body scrub & jacuzzi milk bath) for $140.  We fixed our appt for 2pm on 5th May (I was bz & she was broke in Apr, otherwise, we cld hav had a 20% disc if we had gone in Apr!!)!!  So u see, this thingy was arranged even b4 the Nokia 6280 came.

So yeah..today we left office @ 1.30pm (I drove).  We spent abt 3hrs der:-

1. The shocking part of the whole experience -> the sauna (gosh, I almost got roasted in there!!).

2. The syiokest part of the whole experience -> the jacuzzi milk bath (whoaaa...feels like a princess bathing in a bath tub!).

3. The worst part of the whole experience -> the unbearable pain of the massage & the scrub, I wasn't sure which was more painful (my threshold for pain on the thigh & shin is very low!).

4. The oddest part of the whole experience -> stripping (outside of home) to a total stranger!!!

5. The unbelievable part of the whole experience -> succumbing to the temptation to purchase a promotional $80 voucher for a makeover session, afterwhich you can claim beauty products worth $80 (so technically the makeover is free la!), thus making the total damage for the day...$220!!

THE MAKEOVER STORY:

On Wed nite, my colleague "K", who can nvr live in peace if she doesn't irritate me for 1 day, sms-ed me this: "Why does beautiful Indian ladies have to take bus no. 34 with me!??!  Hmmm...if only I've my magic wand wif me, I can at least make all of them look like...Sharbina!"  [U see, she gets heartache wen she sees beautiful woman, perhaps wishing she's half as beautiful as them!]  So to that statement of hers, the string of sms-es below followed:

I: "Do u hav insurance?!"

K: "No, y?"

I: "Nothing, I'm doing sideline, INSURANCE AGENT"

K: "R u serious?"

I: "No...actualy I was thinking mayb u shld get urself a policy coz der's a possibility u mite be murdered tomoro!"

Later @ nite (1.40am actualy), wen I sms-ed to inform of my new hp no., she sms-ed me: "Stil awake?  Sitting in front of the TV plotting my murder, is it?!  MURDER SHE PLOT."

Yea yea yea...very funny!!  So that kept me thinking...wat wld be the best way to murder her eh!??!  The thing is, she's nvr seen me fully groomed/made-up (for functions, wedding etc)...all her life, she's only seen the natural (beauty) me!!  So an idea struck me!!  I'll do a makeover & show her the photos!!!  Hopefully I'd look at least 20% like Madhuri (yea, fat hope!!)...then she'll really die standing!!!  The only pt I wanna prove to her is that those "beautiful" ladies (they're stewardesses actually) she's been comparing me wif...look gd only bcoz they're so made-up...shed the make-up off their faces, I think they'll look like any ordinary person like me & her!

So while I was prepared to spend slightly above $100 for a makeover, I got a gd bargain ($80...plus products) so why not!?!?!?!  I guess, this will be the only time I'll get to stretch the limit of my looks...just for vanity sake!!

Ok I prrromise...this will really wrap up my RETAIL THERAPY.  Really...coz my bank balance have gone back to $0 & as though that's not enough, I've even touched my savings!!

A final glance at the total damages as a result of my recent depression:

1. 6 Apr   - $154 (SD card + car accessories)

2. 10 Apr - $215 (portable hard disk)

3. 30 Apr - $300 (bridal bedsheet set)

4. 3 May  - $388 (Nokia 6280)

5. 5 May  - $220 (Citra Ayu)

TOTAL DAMAGE: $1,277

PSYCHIATRIST CONCLUSION: The RETAIL THERAPY didn't really work; Patient has really gone out of her mind; Beyond cure; To be admitted to a mental asylum w/o further delay!!

[UPDATE - 1 JUN 2006: The makeover plan has been shelved.  I'm not keen anymore as I find the shop is doing a con job, keep twisting their words & not keeping to what they initially promised...plus I'm not abt to risk damaging my face after spending so much to cure it.  Luckily 4 me, Maslin revealed her keenness just in time & I managed to sell the $80 voucher to her instead!!  Phew!]
