Da FLU is knocking...

I was awakened by a chill in my bones tho my fan was @ lowest speed...looked @ my clock...7.30am (only!)...bones aching...throat sore...nose stuffy...Oh no!!  Not Da FLU!!! *sigh*

Stil went 2 work coz I hav a tender briefing & site showround @ 3pm.  Day went well, tried taking things ez.  Waiting 4 my former CAAS Vehicle Maintenance workshop engineer to call & giv me the new engineer's no. (he'll take 2 the chap to help me do my car & absorb labour cost, which was wat he used 2 do 4 me!)...but stil no sign of him!  Wirza oso promised 2 give her hubby's workshop's address, but stil no news.  So I passed my morning in office patiently waiting.  So far only 1 quote from STAR ($160) for my car repair & can be done in 1 & 1/2 days.  The other 2 workshops, given by Saidah & my colleague Kamisah, are in Eunos...since I've no one 2 bring me der, so...KIV! 

Talk of Saidah, she emailed me teasingly asking if I "slept well or dreamt of the worm?"!!!  Strings of emails wif her, sharing wif her abt my impending flu...she offered 2 accompany me 2d clinic downstairs since she's goddamn free & bored.  Tol her I'm not abt 2 waste $ on doctors...wld rather go MC-free & aim 2 get the $50 incentive (which if I succeed, wil b my 1st eva in my 13 yrs of career wif CAAS) since I've 30 days of annual leave to waste!  She said "suit urself" & tol me if I need anything just give her a ring.

During lunch, I decided 2 email Wirza (in case she 4got!).  3pm I went 4 my tender briefing, den brought some visitors from COURTS to see the shops on tender...by the time I was done, think it was almost 5pm!!  Walking alone 2 office along the departure hall...was as usual looking down on the floor (hoping to stumble upon some big notes or diamonds!!), wen I heard "sharbina!"...I looked up, saw my fren from my Sec Sch - Seri Suryani - whom I've not met for 6 yrs or so!  I mean, we met once, like 8 yrs after we left Sec Sch & hardly in touch, but somehow got in touch & were close until some misunderstanding made me distanced myself from her (rather than harbouring ill-feelings).  1 fine day, God's will, I just decided 2 sms her my gd wishes @ seeing her achieving gr8 heights in life & dat's possibly how we patched up agn & been in contact via sms.  Interestingly, last wk I thot I saw her (turned out 2b a look-alike) outside my office & sms-ed her 2 ask if by any freak chance she's "in Terminal 2, wearing blue" but she said no...& today...der she realy was in Terminal 2!!  The 1st thing I asked as I approached her was "this is realy u rite, not my eyes playing tricks on me rite?!?!"  I sat down wif her & chatted 4 abt 10mins, keeping her company while she wait 4 her god-bro.  Oh, I muz write dis...she tol me "U look gd u know Sharb".  Wow.  I responded wif "Realy? Hmmm, thks, altho I don't think I look gd...heehee".  She reiterated, "U do, considering u're sick" (I tol her abt my impending flu!).  Her god-bro arrived, so I excused myself & smiled my way 2 office, much 2d puzzlement of my dear sisterly colleagues (dey tot I went cuckoo!).

I checked my email...Wirza finaly replied dat she 4got 2 get it from her hubby as he was down wif high fever since two days & slept most of the time...but she gav me the mechanic's (Ah-Huat) mobile no. 4 me 2 cal & get the address.  I called & found out it was just opposite STAR (Bedok Industrial Park!)...aiyah...if she gav the no. yest'day, I cld've done it @ the same time while I was @ STAR.  Ah-Huat's workshop (Pioneer Auto) closes @ 7pm & he'll be der til den...it was 5.30pm, & so I instantly decided 2 leave earlier (latest 6.30pm) & drop by his workshop 2 get a quote.

I swallowed my pride (oh, I've been swallowing pride since yesterday & it's worked 2 my advantage!!) & tried calling Saidah 2 ask her plan for after work.  She has no plans - hubby not fetching, going 2 mom's place @ Chai Chee - so I asked if she can accompany me 2d workshop. W/o hesitation, she jumped @ it (which I nvr experience coz usually if I turn 2 ppl for help, all I get is excuses!) I den offered 2 drop her @ her mom's place after dat, since it's juz 5 mins away.  We den made plans 2 leave @ 6pm.

Reached Ah-Huat's workshop @ arnd 6.20pm, got a quote of $120 (whoaa...cheaper by $40!!), but he can only do on Mon/Tues.  We left...Saidah needed 2 get some baking stuff from Bedok Interchange so she asked 2b dropped @ Bdk Interchange instead.  I tol her I've nothing, so it's ok, I can join her, wait 4 her 2 finish & drop her @ her mom's place.  We both were starving so we tore a 1/2hr coupon & decided 2 grab a bite/drink @ Ya-Salam.  Followed her 2 NTUC 1st...while she grabbed some baking stuff, I got myself dis new Cadbury Bytes - cereals with chocolate filling - to try out.  My throat wasn't gd so I didn't hav appetite 4 anything but Cadbury Bytes caught my attn & I got it.  Not bad!!  Even Saidah njoyed it!!  After dat, we had a quick drink b4 I drop her @ Chai Chee & headed home, safely reaching almost 8pm!

Didn't realise we actualy spent almost 2hrs together after work...which Saidah claimed she's not done dat (shop & roam arnd freely) in ages & thus realy enjoying d moment - roaming arnd wif me w/o pressure, instead of rushing home!!  I guess I always hav dat effect on ppl...yes Shazadi, I noe, I admit, unless I'm down wif migraine (which den makes me a lousy company!!).

Ooookkkkk...dat's been wee bit too long...I think I've not yakked 4 ages now so it's juz verbal diarrhoea...pardon me!  I must admit dat I'm eternally grateful 4d companionship Saidah has given me since yesterday... otherwise, I realy had no one 2 go 2 all these workshops wif (I'm not abt 2 go alone!!). 

Ok ok...I'm done...u can go now..while I too rest in bed & continue wif chapter 74 (out of 105) of Da Vinci Code!
