Fund Raising

I always get these stupid emails from my HR dept re. MINDEF's SDU activities.  Usually, I'll immediately delete the email (certainly not interested)...but today I was just in one of those moods where u just feel like doing things u don't usually do.  I open the attachment which listed all the activities (for singles) planned for Jul 06.

After reading the 1st two activities, I told my colleague Kamisah: "Kak Misah Kak Misah...I'm torn la, I'm not sure if I wanna sign up for the Golf Lesson for Beginners or the Wine Appreciation Workshop?!?!"  To which Kamisah responded wif a laugh "Sharb...pls, don't gimme that nonsense!".  I answered back "Why dya think I'm giving u that? Coz it's really NONSENSE!!"  Oh well, I scrolled on to see what other nonsense is in store...Salsa Dance...bla bla bla...& then this caught my attn:

Whoooooaaa....this one I like!!!  It's been a dream since young 2b able to play at least one musical instrument.  Well, I did play the toy piano/organ as a kid...but all I cld play (by looking @ the musical notes) were "Happy B'day", "London Bridge", "I Hear Thunder" etc.  During my late teens/early twenties, I got to know a couple of ppl, 1 of whom cld teach guitar.  So he gave me free tution & a free guitar.  So I got to learn the guitar for a short while...until I quit halfway coz I realise I was getting into a not-so-good company & so I wanted out of it!!  I kept the guitar 4 a while...dunno what happened 2 it (did my mom throw it away or wat!?! I 4got)...but I still kept the notes I have.  I nvr had the heart to throw it, thinking I cld resume learning it one fine day.  In fact, Johnny also booked the notes from me, so mayb one fine day, if he ever finds time to meet up...then perhaps I can pass the notes to him.

Anyways, now that I'm abt done wif everything I wished to do in life - free & easy now - I thot I shld take up some hobby.  I can't decide which instrument I wanna go for though.  Maybe I shld take the drum (since I've touched a guitar & a toy piano b4!!).  But my fave sound is the guitar...but I also love the magical feeling of hearing the sound of the piano.

The sad thing is, I'm not so rich 2b able to spend $200++ to learn a musical instrument (such an expensive dream I have!)...esp. after being $120 poorer for no fault of mine (oh btw, the car's back home...yipppeee!).  Thus, I've to resort to raising funds here.  If u'd like to help me fulfil my childhood dream, u can do your part by contributing to 1900-91814262Your contribution wil be greatly appreciated!!

PS:- Once I can play an instrument, I'll raise fund in a more stylish manner by buskering outside MRT stations!!  One day @ Tiong Bahru MRT, another day @ City Hall, Bedok, Sengkang & definitely Tampines!  U'll be proud of me when u hear me play & know that I didn't let your contributions go to waste!!
